Dreambaby Pressure Mount Hallway Extensions
we necessitated a gate to fit in amid the kitchen and livingroom which a small more prominent space than normal. i spent alot of time reserching gates when it comes to 2 months and i decisive on this one, and i am so glad i did. it is perfect. it only took me when it comes to 20 mintues to set it up and get it right. we have it when it comes to 1/2 an inch of the floor so just in case it did slip or something it would not scratch the hardwood floor. it shuts great, opens outstanding and locks great. my 14 month old son loves it to because he might see through it so he knows what is going on in the other room, the gate does shut by itself but i think that is good whether or not you want to keep it open just put a shoe in front of the door and there you go its open. i love it love it love it, way worth every small penny. i would commend this product to any individual and everyone. it is in addition not bulky looking and it looks nice when it is up not like most gates. it is pressure mounted so no screws in your wall. and whether or not you have to you may still step over it, low sufficient to whether or not you need to, but yet still high sufficient so shildren cannot get over and because of it being designed the way it is, it is in addition very hard for the little ones to climb. again love it love it love it
This is a swell product and a great place to buy its We presently have this gate in a 48″ doorway, and our 20-month-old rather rambunctious daughter has yet to break out or tear it down. (Yes, of course, she has tried!) It was relatively easy to set up (probably having little impact than most of the baby toys I’ve put together). It is easy to get in and out of, primarily because the door swings both ways. I do not in particular love that the door is hinged with a spring, however; there have been so many close calls with fingers nearly becoming pinched. The spring as well makes it unmanageable to keep the door open without installing an eye hook in a nearby wall to attach it to with string (or, like us, those baby rings they trade for hanging baby items so that kids can’t choke themselves with it). Still, I’m amazed at the gate’s ability to withstand a good amount of abuse but still maintain top quality function. We chose not to screw it into the wall and only use the sticky pads that lock it in place when you’re setting it up. I wondered whether or not we’d regret that and end up taking it apart to screw it into the wall. It hasn’t been an issue at all. The thing is just ridiculously sturdy. I highly commend this to any person looking for a gate for a wider doorway that is utilized frequently; it’s well worth the money.
Quick update: We now have a 2.5-year-old and a 10-month-old, and the gate is as sturdy–and useful–as every My 2.5-year-old can’t get it open, which is great, and my younger one may pull up on it without any fear of it moving. The spring in the hinge is still annoying for pinched fingers, particularly when my 2.5-year-old tries to be “helpful” and shut it for me. Pinched fingers haven’t yet happened, but that’s mainly due to good luck and mom’s watchful eyes. Overall, I still highly recommend the gate–I’d buy it again in a heartbeat whether or not I necessitated something for a broad doorway.
This item appeared to be made very well. It fit the space perfect and the door automatically closed and latched. The one issue is that the top latch never properly aligned and locked. Pressure mounted gates require you to tighten the gate in order for the door to line up and appear off before pressure is employed utilized wasn’t the introductory pressure gate I’ve installed). This one did partially lock but the top latch never aligned to entirely lock, so I wasn’t comfortable leaving the gate in place. The item has since been returned to Amazon and I’m not sure whether to attempt another or not. I do prefer the The First Years Hands Free Gate rather but will have to purchase extensions in order to use this. I as well like the fact that the First Years gate doesn’t automatically close the door in case I want to leave the area opened (I’ll in all probability adjust my tune on this when my daughter is older).
This gate is well worth the cash and will definitely last for quite galore time. I have two and use one at the top of the stairs. I in truth wish the door was a bit wider when bringing groceries in and out of the house, but equated to the other gate options, this one wins hands down! My toddler will try to get through and even knows where to put his hand on the latch, but because you have to pull up while releasing the latch, he’ll never be capable to open it! Go in front and spend the money. You will not be disappointed!
I love my new gate. It is sturdy and beaufiful. I genuinely have no children, but I have 3 small dogs that make it very difficult, if not impossible, to open the front door of my house. I mounted the gate just inside the foyer which enables me to enter the foyer through the gate, close the gate behind me and open the front door to meet humans without fear of my dogs getting out. It is wonderful. The gate may be either pressure mounted or hung with provided hardware. I am having no difficultnesses with the pressure method. The shipping was speedy and the product well packed. I would purchase again from this company without giving it a second thought.
The description says, “The baby gate from Dream Baby also features optional extensions which are sold separately. It allows the gate to exaggerate to fit an opening over 63 inches in width.” Not true! 63 inches is the MAXIMUM. I have a 72 inch opening, so I bought the gate and extensions to fit the space. The instructions say that you may use a greatest or most complete or best possible of two extensions, but I wasn’t clear if they considered the two small ones included with the gate to be allocation of the greatest or most complete or best possible because the description implied otherwise. A call to the company confirmed that only two of any length can be used. The immense flaw? The pressure-mounts at the bottom won’t clear the quarter-round moulding on my baseboard. Because the gate need to be flush on the floor, I can’t use it anyplace in my house.
We now have 3 of the gates. They are well made of steel. Very easy to mount. They come with extendable threaded shafts that insert at every end (top and bottom) with a threaded collar that controls the pressure among the gate and wall. Operation is by sliding a lever on the top of the gate and lifting up.

Intro:
I’ve been looking off an on for years for something to fit my 54″ wide stairway. I can’t tell you how IMPRESSED I am with this product.
This gate is like a miracle!! I substituted the 7″ with the 10.5″ extension. Put the 3.5″ on the other end and it is PERFECT!!
Pros
1. The multiple extension options make it fit almost any size hallway!!
2. The price (in my book) is perfect!
3. To keep it in place (along w/ the pressure), you can use screws, the double sided tape or both for a more inviolable hold.
4. The 3″+ play on each end is what really makes it fit almost anywhere
5. Built so very well – metal.
6. The gate swings both directions AND shuts on it’s own.
7. No need to find studs or use drywall screws – the pressure takes care of itself.
8. My 4 & 6yr old kids can open it themselves – I don’t see how a 1-2 yr old could though.
9. Two COLOR options – White/Dark
10. It’s beautiful! (except for the mandatory warning stickers on the bottom of each each Set-up is mildly complicated. Took about 15 minutes. Could do it again in 5, now that I acknowledge how it works.
Conclusion:
My little dogs are stuck downstairs, no more chewed up stuffed animals and costume items!!!
It’s going to pays for itself in months for sure!!
P.S. – I’ve heard of humans adding multiple extensions to each end for SUPER wide areas. I can’t affirm that it works and it may not be too safe, but it’s better than no gate!
We purchased this gate to keep our baby in the living room & out of the kitchen & foyer. We needed a gate to fit a 63″ space, and this works great; (although, I did order an additional further and added our introductory package arrived, I found that the gate was damaged for the duration of UPS shipping, but Amazon was exceedingly effective & timely in sending a replacement.
Everything was easy to put together. I assisted my husband, and it took about 10 minutes to put it up & get everything level. We plan to use this for quite some time, but for now, the pressure mounts have held up well. I love the walk-through feature. It opens in both directions & the latch mechanism is baby-proof. While the baby is sleeping, we want quick access to the kitchen without latching & unlatching… so we plainly put an item on the floor to hold the walk-thru open at all times. I’m marveling if the gate as a whole will hold up well in the future because I know kids like to climb and get rough sometimes… I expect we will deal with that when the time comes.
I have used 2 dissimilar gates on a regular basis at other family members’ houses. I can say that I like ours MUCH better. The Dream Baby seems to be of higher quality, sturdier, and more practical. I will without doubt give an update in the future will have to I find any qualms with this item
